9:00am - Noon: Morning workshops

"Telling Personal Stories and Sharing History” Workshop with Kim Pearson
Begin telling stories about your own experiences by exploring the relationship   between big history and your individual life. History is not a dry recital of dates and places: history is stories. And you were there! This 3-hour workshop shows you an easy, fun, and no pressure way to:
- Discover your place in history
- Remember the stories of your time
- Hear inspiring, tragic, humorous real stories from others
- Wow your audience with great stories of your own
Take a gallop back in time, to the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s with author, ghostwriter and historian Kim Pearson, and discover how you participated in and contributed to the events and trends of those times. Whether you were 7 or 77, what you did, thought, felt, and witnessed mattered – to history! More information about Kim at www.primary-sources.com.

"Creating Characters You (and Your Listeners) Can Believe In" Workshop with Jill Johnson – Engaging, believable characters are a cornerstone of good storytelling. Explore successful techniques for all phases (preparation, rehearsal and performance) of story-making. This workshop is for storytellers and all who use story in their work.
Jill has performed and given workshops all over the U.S. and abroad. She has been a featured performer with Humanities Washington and toured in Africa. More information about Jill at http://globalvillagestory.com.

Noon-1:30pm: Lunch
